Street Seen: Carlisle St, Balaclava

MADDISON SHEEHAN, 21

I AM IN Carlisle Street, Balaclava

I AM A graphic designer

I AM WEARING My sparkly black flare pants (I honestly cannot remember where they are from). These are my favourite pants because not only are they so damn comfortable but fun, I can transition from work to a night out in these pants without getting changed. I’m pretty sure my friend has thrown up on them once, they’ve definitely been around the friendship group.

My vintage Harley Davidson T-shirt, which I know is a very "old trend" but I’ve had it in my wardrobe for about three years now and I always turn back to it. It’s just that comfortable and reliable. I had a few grey-nomads come up to me once at the Workers Club and asked me where I got it from, which made me feel a bit out of my depth.

I’m wearing Fila Disruptors because I am definitely all about the sneaker culture that is going around at the moment, comfy but stylish. That’s definitely the sneaker vibe, right?

My bag is from local Melbourne designer Sans Beast. I’ve never really had a staple bag before, and when I found Sans Beast it was the perfect match. As a vegan, I couldn’t justify buying a real leather bag, but with Sans Beast you get the quality and ethical fashion element all in one.

MY STYLE IS It’s honestly constantly changing based on inspiration. This might sound bad but I genuinely only have four to five outfits that I rotate through during the week depending on the weather or what I’m feeling that day. I think a lot of it has to do with comfort, looking and feeling comfortable at the same time.

I ADMIRE THE STYLE OF Even though it’s not my style, I love the Instagrammer Jen Ceballos (@endlesslyloveclub) – I definitely aspire to have that aesthetic even though I don’t have it myself at the moment.

MY FAVOURITE PLACES TO SHOP Afterpay, but seriously, anything that I can use Afterpay with and usually online.

MY BIGGEST FASHION MISTAKE WAS Jay-jays slogan shirts circa 2007 or my "Whaling sucks" T-shirt from Supre, even though I still believe in the statement.

WHEN I WAS A KID I WORE A lady bug matching pant-shirt set and a fedora.

I WOULD NEVER BE CAUGHT DEAD IN Crocs or jean shorts, even though they are back in fashion now. My friend also wants to buy Teva and she is super serious about it. I just can’t accept grandpa sandals being in fashion again.
