Everything is still left to play for when Napoli host Red Star at home on Wednesday, with all four teams in Group C still in the running to qualify
Napoli will host Red Star Belgrade in their penultimate Champions League group stage tie on Wednesday with Group C still wide open.
Wednesday’s meeting at the Stadio San Paolo will be a meeting between first and last place in Group C, but there is everything left to play for as just two points separate first-placed Napoli and bottom-placed Red Star.
A victory for the Italians will be enough to secure their spot in the last 16 so long as Paris Saint-Germain fail to win against Liverpool, but Red Star will crash out of the Champions League should they taste defeat.

When the Champions League group stage fixtures were announced, it was obvious that Group C – comprising of Liverpool, PSG, Napoli and Red Star Belgrade – was one of the toughest among this year’s competition, but nobody predicted just how tough.
Group C standings are air-tight heading into matchday five and qualified teams may not be confirmed until the final game.
Red Star have emerged as bogey underdogs over the course of the group stage and sit just one point behind third-placed PSG. They still, spectacularly, retain an outside chance of qualifying for the next phase following their shock 2-0 victory over Liverpool earlier in the month.
Napoli are currently the best-placed team in Group C as just a win will be enough to secure their spot in the last 16, but were unable to pick up all three points as their previous meeting with Red Star ended in a 0-0 draw.
The Italians are Group C’s only remaining unbeaten team and should be able to register a victory over Red Star, but they are still far from confirming their status in the knockout stages due to the unpredictable nature of the group.
Liverpool can secure their spot in the last 16 should they win against PSG in the other Group C game, though they can also clinch qualification should they beat Napoli by more than two goals in the final game if they lose against the French giants.
Red Star will be eager to pull off another European upset following their impressive 2-0 victory over the Reds and are on an impressive run of form, having avoided defeat in their last seven games in all competitions since their 4-0 loss to Liverpool at Anfield in October.
