Monday Night Raw Down Slightly Against Stiff NFL/MBL Competition, Third Hour Sees Major Drop

The October 14 edition of Monday Night Raw was watched by an average of 2.28 million viewers, dropping slightly from the previous week’s 2.33 million.

The first hour was watched by 2.52 million viewers, which was actually up from the week before, featuring Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair and the draft picks of both men’s world champions.

The issue is that the show dropped 8% in the second hour after the majority of the big names had been drafted, and dropped another 13.9% in the third hour to just under 2 million viewers, even with an advertised contract signing between heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury and Braun Strowman, a Women’s Tag Team Championship match, and Seth Rollins promising to find Bray Wyatt, ultimately burning down the Firefly Fun House.

The first and second hour of Raw took fifth and sixth place on cable Monday night with a 0.8 rating in adults 18-49, with stiff competition from the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers NFL game, which had 13.3 million viewers, as well as the Cardinals and Nationals NLCS game and the midnight edition of SportsCenter on ESPN.
