WELLINGTON, FL — A Florida dad, who spent five seasons in the NFL, told the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office it was game on when he spotted a man in the bushes outside his daughter’s window earlier this week.
Former NFL cornerback Tony Beckham ran about 50 yards to tackle the man, who was identified by the sheriff’s office as 48-year-old Geoffrey Cassidy. Beckham held the man there until police arrived.

“He saw Cassidy’s hand inside of his pants making a motion consistent with masturbating,” according to arrest documents. The incident happened shortly before 7 a.m. on Monday in the Solara community of Wellington.
Beckham told Local 10 News in Miami that the man was outside his 15-year-old daughter’s window.
He was surprised to see him there at first.
“I couldn’t believe it. I was like ‘is this for real?’ I thought I was getting punked,” recalled Beckham, who played four seasons with the Tennessee Titans and one season with the Detroit Lions.
“I caught him like at the apartment over there, and then we just had a good conversation,” Beckham told the television crew.
Cassidy, who was found to be indigent, was ordered to have no contact with the victim’s family or neighborhood where the victim lives. He will face a charge of voyeurism when he appears in Palm Beach County Court on Feb. 13, according to court records.
The sheriff’s office said Cassidy suffered two fractures during the struggle. He was being held at the West County Detention Center on bail of $1,500.
“He’s never going to do that again on this side of town,” Beckham added.
